Foot of the Rockies is proud to provide great racing opportunities to southern Wyoming. We partner with local organizations as well as host many different races from road 5k's to full marathons.

May 2024 - Cinco De Mayo 5k

• Lions Park in Cheyenne
• 5k

This fun Fiesta Run takes place at Lions Park here in Cheyenne, and will follow 1 of several 5k courses around the lake and nearby golf course. This course has a small hill about halfway through the course at the exit and re-entrance of a tunnel. Dress as festively as you like, bring your friends, and come join the fun!!

May 2024 - Run like a Mother 5k

• Location: Natural Grocers Parking Lot in Cheyenne
• Distance: 5k

This fun family footrace will take place on the Greenway starting near Natural Grocers here in Cheyenne. This is an out and back 5k course that goes from Natural Grocers to a turn-around point in Mylar Park and back. Bring the whole family to help celebrate our mom's and everything they do for us!!

 May 2024 - Wyoming Marathon Races

• 4 Race Series: 5k, 1/2 Marathon, Full Marathon & 50k

All 4 of our out and back races take place on the same day starting near the Laramie Summit about 40 minutes West of Cheyenne, WY.

June 2024 - Rowdy Gowdy Trail Races

• Volin Trailhead in Curt Gowdy State Park, by Crystal Reservoir
• 2 Races:  5 Miler & 7 Miler
• Registration is not open yet.... Check back soon!!

Both trail races take place on the same day, and start at the Volin Parking area in Curt Gowdy State park, right next to the Crystal Reservoir. Both courses take the same trail for a little ways before branching off in different directions for the multi-distance loops. Come enjoy a beautiful, refreshing, nature run, in the great outdoors!!!

Nov. 2024 - Turkey Trot 5k & Kids Gobble Wobble

This is a fun Thanksgiving themed race that benefits the Cheyenne COMEA shelter for the homeless. The Gobble Wobble is a short kids race for ages 3 - 12 who want to run for a prize! Each kid gets a participation prize! The regular 5k race will take place after the Kids Gobble Wobble.

The 5k starts at the COMEA Shelter and follows the sidewalk along West Lincolnway for a bit before it meets up with the Cheyenne Greenway, it then continues out to a turn-around point near Optimist Park, before heading back to finish at the Comea Shelter again. Come join the fun, and dress in your Turkey best!!

Dec. 2024 - Christmas Classic 5K

This wonderfully festive Christmas themed race is definitely a local favorite!! The course is mostly flat, but has a hill about 1.5 - 2 miles into the race. There are prize opportunities for the guys that beat our Santa runner and for the ladies that beat our Mrs. Claus runner!! Tie our little jingles on your shoes and dress up in a holiday costume, or just come enjoy the fun!!
